An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) in Manchester is often required for landlords, sales, insurance, and commercial tenancies. INNOVIX LTD provides testing and clear coding (C1, C2, C3, FI) with remedial options — not a report you cannot act on. Our main electrician Manchester guide explains how EICR, rewiring, and emergencies link together. For typical cost context, read the 2026 cost guide (blog). Book: contact or 0161 710 4369.
What is tested on an EICR?
We assess the fixed installation: earthing, bonding, consumer unit, overcurrent and RCD protection, circuits (continuity, insulation, polarity, and where relevant earth fault loop / RCD). We do not “pass a house” to please anyone — the report reflects condition and safety as observed on the day.
EICR in Buy-to-let and HMOs
Many landlords in Sale, Stretford, and the city need a sensible remedial list after a fail. We sequence work so the most serious codes are resolved first, with minimal void days. If you are selling, your buyer’s solicitor may need evidence of remedial completion — we can provide the right sign-off and certificates.
EICR and rewiring
An EICR might show old PVC under stress, no CPC, or overloaded rings. We map whether rewiring or partial rewire is the proportionate response versus targeted upgrades, especially in busy Manchester period stock.
